Evolution of Health Care Data

Over the last 20 years remarkable changes have occurred in the health care industry. " Health care technology has exploded over the last two decades, not just in the arena of medical medical diagnosis and treatment, but also in the area of health information and documentation” (The skill of sufferer care, 2008, p. 1). Two Major Events

Twenty years ago, Riverview Hospital was limited with technology. The application of paper data files for patient records is known as a thing from the past. Today Riverview Clinic uses electronic digital medical documents (EMR). " An EMR is able to digitally collect and store sufferer data, source that info to companies on request, permit clinicians to enter orders into a digital provider entry system, and advise healthcare practitioners by giving decision-support equipment such as pointers, alerts, and access to the most up-to-date research studies, or ideal evidence-based guidelines” (Wagner, Lee, & Glaser,  2009,  p.  1). " Paper-based records have been in existence for years and years and their steady replacement simply by computer-based records has been gradually underway for over twenty years in western health care systems” (Open Clinical,  n. d., g. 1).

Riverview Hospital in addition has seen a rise in using personal digital assistants (PDAs). Twenty years ago, PDAs did not exist. Doctor's and also other health care providers had to look up info in catalogs and other guides. " The use of personal digital assistants (PDAs) in treatments and the wellness sciences has rapidly elevated.
